Transferring Pictures and Contacts from LG Cosmos | Mobile Devices ...

I had to transfer my contacts from my old Verizon LG Cosmos cellphone (LG Cosmos VN250) to my new one, and move my photos (pictures) from my LG Cosmos to my PC (Windows XP) – but I couldn’t find a simple, quick and clear “how to”… so I’m writing one.

This article describes how to get contacts, pictures, sounds and other multimedia from your LG Verizon Cosmos phone onto your Windows computer (Windows XP and probably Windows Vista and Windows 7).

WHAT YOU NEED TO MOVE FILES TO YOUR WINDOWS COMPUTER

link. Your computer should be ready now. Make sure the driver is compatible with your version of Windows.

Next you’ll be moving the data from your phone into your Windows computer.

MOVING YOUR DATA TO YOUR WINDOWS PC

Swing open the USB and microSD covers on the sides if your phone (USB is on bottom side edge and the microSD is on the right side edge) Unplug the USB plug from the power cord adapter and plug one end into your phone (the same place you charge it) and the other end into your computer’s USB port (your phone’s battery begins charging) Put the microSD card into the phone’s microSD port If this is the first time you’ve used a microSD card you’ll have to move your media to the card. From looking at the folders I see on my screen it looks like you can transfer contact info, pictures, ringtones and sounds from your phone to your PC From your phone’s main screen press your round OK button, then press #9 , scroll down to 3. Tools , scroll up to *. USB Mass Storage A window pops up saying its connecting to your computer, then another window pops up and informs you that you are connected, and not to disconnect during the transfer.

Now you can set the phone down in a good spot and on your computer you should see either Windows Explorer listing the folders found on your micro SD card, a Windows prompt on what to do with the files on the micro SD card, or a program may open – all depending on the options you’ve selected as defaults in Windows.

LG Cosmos. More than just a message phone! – StephenJJackson.Com

I was looking for a very easy to use message phone. Someone recommended I look at a simple but elegant LG Cosmos. I did, and I was very pleased.

I didn’t really need all the features a Windows Mobile, Blackberry or IPhone could supply. I just needed a very quick message phone I could stay up to date on text messages, Twitter and Facebook. This phone does it all.

I can post to Twitter in a flash, update my status on Facebook or Myspace and send text messages like crazy. I can also run the GPS finder to know where I am or get driving directions. It has Bing internet search options, Games, Mobile IM, Email from any of the service providers like AOL, Yahoo, Gmail and more.

The only thing I was told it didn’t have was music. Now normally I wouldn’t really care about having the music option, until yesterday. I was looking through the phone and found the option for MY SOUNDS and of course it had the factory installed sounds.

I plugged the unit into my computer and downloaded the driver from Verizon so my PC could identify the phone. Then in the explorer menu of my PC I clicked on the phone (it shows as a mobile modem) when I had the phone clicked, a few folders popped up. I noticed one folder called MY SOUNDS, I clicked on it. The folder opened and it had the default sound files installed. So I thought, “I’ll just copy a music file into this folder” I did.

The file I copied was an MP3 music file, on the phone I navigated to the MY SOUNDS menu and pressed OK to open it. It showed my music file. I toggled down to the file and pressed ok to play. IT PLAYS MP3 FILES!

It will play MP3 music files all the way through. Now granted, this is not a music phone. It doesn’t have a music index or a way to play music continuously. However, you can play any MP3 file you would like on this LG Cosmos and the clarity is incredible. The music is very clear and crisp as any phone I have listened to; through the headphones of course.
